The Clear Choice for Solar Control
Solarban® 70XL Glass by PPG offers an unmatched balance between aesthetics and performance.
As building design evolves to meet the demands of an ever-changing economy, it is more important than ever to find cost-effective building solutions that don’t sacrifice aesthetics.
Solarban 70XL glass incorporates the industry’s first triple-silver coating, enabling it to reflect more than 73% of the sun’s heat energy in a standard one-inch insulating glass unit. The same coating also transmits almost 65% of the sun’s visible light, which minimizes reliance on artificial lighting.
The energy savings associated with Solarban 70XL can be realized even before the building is occupied. How? Due to the unprecedented solar control characteristics of the high performance glazing, upfront capital investment costs for HVAC systems can be reduced dramatically.
Solarban 70XL also offers aesthetic versatility as it can easily be combined with any of PPG’s broad range of ocean, earth or sky-inspired tints.
These combined performance, aesthetic and cost-saving attributes are unmatched by any commercially available architectural glass.

2011 Hurricane Season
New Atlantic depression could form any time
Dr. Rick Knabb, Hurricane Expert, The Weather Channel

ATLANTIC BASIN
This is one of the first storms of many that are predicted to affect South Florida. Does your home have protection for hurricanes? Now is the time to invest in the safety of your family and home from storms and burglars. Hurricane IMPACT windows and doors protect a home all year. No need to worry when your away on vacation because your home will be permanently protected. Insurance rates will drastically drop when IMPACT hurricane doors and windows are installed. This is because your insurance company will know that your home is protected all year round. They don’t have to hope that the homeowner will put their shutters up properly. IMPACT windows and doors are a one time investment that lasts. Call Custom Door Shop today for a free in-home estimate 561-741-0603.
A tropical depression is expected to form today or Tuesday, possibly as soon as later this morning, in association with a well-defined tropical wave a couple hundred miles east of the Windward and Leeward Islands.
The system will move west-northwestward the next 2-3 days, and it could become a tropical storm before it reaches the Leeward Islands tonight. It could then continue to strengthen while affecting other areas from the Virgin Islands to eastern Cuba and the Bahamas throughout this week as it gradually turns to the northwest. It is too soon to determine if any parts of the continental United States will eventually be affected, but it is possible that portions of southern Florida could be affected in some way by this weekend.
An Air Force reconnaissance plane is currently investigating this system to determine if it has a closed surface circulation and has become a depression. That will be followed by another Air Force mission after midnight tonight if the depression forms today, and a NOAA G-IV jet mission is scheduled again for tonight to collect data for use in computer forecast models, mainly to help improve the track forecast.
A tropical wave is over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico and southeastern Mexico and is producing scattered showers. Development is not expected due to interaction with land, but locally heavy rains could occur in portions of southeastern Mexico the next day or two.
Another tropical wave has just departed the west coast of Africa, but models do not yet forecast much development over the tropical eastern Atlantic.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — The first tropical storm of the 2011 Atlantic hurricane season was making landfall in Mexico early Thursday morning.
Tropical Storm Arlene formed Tuesday night in the Bay of Campeche.
The storm was making landfall south of Tampico, Mexico. It had winds of 65 mph and was moving west at 9 mph.
“It’s big for a tropical storm,” WPBF 25 First Alert Weather meteorologist Sandra Shaw says. “The tropical storm force winds actually extend 205 miles out from the core of circulation.”
Shaw says Arlene could bring about a foot of rain to the region, which is suffering through a drought. Too much rain, though, could bring flash flooding and mudslides.
The storm doesn’t pose a threat to Florida.

Air conditioning units are now working hard around the clock to keep usSouth Floridianscool. How much are you paying a month on your AC bill? Do you want to lower that monthly fee while protecting and beautifying your home? I have just the way for you homeowners to accomplish just that.
Many doors and windows are not properly installed into a home or the home is just old. If that’s the case then you are allowing that cool air to escape out of your house. This makes your air conditioning unit have to work twice as hard and pay twice as much. The easiest way to tell if cool air is escaping out is to look at your door from the inside during the day and see if you can see daylight creeping through the top, bottom or sides. If you see daylight that means you isn’t a proper seal. That gap allows cool air out, water/bugs in and a dangerous situation for hurricanes.
Your answer to this problem is getting a new door system. Custom Door Shop can help you save money on your AC bill, protect and beautify your home. Here at Custom Door Shop we work one on one with our customers to come up with a way to replace the front doors. We have 100’s of doors so we can meet any customer’s price point. We have the best licensed installers working exclusively for us. Stop by or call us today for a FREE no obligation appointment 561-741-0603.
